Stephanie Couch the Director of Statewide Initiatives for the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California. She also works part-time as Director of the K20 California Education Technology Collaborative – the innovation and development “arm” of the California Virtual campus. She has served as an education advisor for two Speakers of the California State Assembly, the Senate Appropriations Committee, and worked as a legislative advocate in Sacramento specializing in education issues.

Gerard L. Hanley Ph.D. is the Executive Director of MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching at www.merlot.org) and Senior Director for Academic Technology Services, California State University, Office of the Chancellor. Previously held positions in the CSU include Professor of Psychology, Director of Faculty Development and Director of Strategic Planning.

Ali Jafari, Ph.D. is the Founder/CAO of Epsilen Environment and is currently on leave of absence from his Professorship at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Dr. Jafari is renowned for his expertise on smart learning environments, having founded and co-developed several high-profile technology solutions for education, including Oncourse CMS, ANGEL Learning Management System, and now Epsilen Environment, commercially available since August 2007.

Kathleen is the Project Manager for the California State University Center for Distributed Learning. In 2002 she was on the investigative team reporting on ePortfolios for the Education Deans in the CSU. In 2006 she reviewed ePortfolio tools for the WCET EduTools project and focused research on ePortfolios while pursuing a Master’s in Education and Technology.
